The testimonies in the Christian Science publications have been very helpful to me many times. The first change I noticed after learning of Christian Science, in the fall of 1913, was an improvement over a very irritable disposition, this having taken place during my conversation with one who made the truth known to me. I had suffered five years from the belief of nervousness and all the diseases which usually accompany neurasthenia. At the time this teaching was brought to my attention I seemed to be suffering most from sciatic nerve trouble, but I was so thankful for the peace of mind Christian Science brought, that I forgot about the physical ailments. Several days later I felt that my ill condition must be overcome, and thereupon I asked for guidance as to a practitioner, knowing that all help comes from God, and the thought immediately came to me, "Why, you are healed," and I was healed at that moment.
A few years ago I had gone to a hospital to have an enlarged joint on each foot operated on, having been troubled with bunions since childhood; but it was proven to me that the trouble was not in the joints but in my understanding, for as soon as I was able to walk, infection appeared in another part of the feet. For this I was treated nearly a year by chiropodists and a physician; but after being told of Christian Science I had a few treatments and found that as I studied this Science and imbibed its spirit my feet became more normal, and I am thankful to say that the following spring I gained perfect freedom in walking. Not only has my healing been complete and permanent, but my attitude toward things generally has changed, and my whole life has become better. Constant watchfulness for good everywhere, enables me to help others and to manifest my gratitude for this saving truth.
