I write this testimony to express my gratitude for the healing I have received through Christian Science. I had been a sufferer for nearly twenty-seven years, and the doctors said nothing would relieve the pain in my spine, supposed to have been caused by a fall from a carriage, except an operation, and this could not be performed because they were afraid to give me an anesthetic. One day I was led to go to the Christian Science reading-room. There I met the daughter of an old friend, and she told me of Christian Science. After quite a long talk I returned home, pondering over the truths I had heard. I live alone, and when I gathered from a Journal which had been given me that man is God's perfect child, there came a great sense of strength, and I did not feel nearly so tired doing my washing. Always before, I would have to lie down when about half through. I had one Christian Science treatment and began to get better. I no longer grew tired in doing my work and had no desire to lie down every day, as had been my custom for years. From that time I have steadily gained strength and activity, and have had no return of the painful condition for four years.

I am so grateful for all our literature and for our services. I am also grateful and happy in doing all I have to do, because after years of searching the Scriptures and church wandering, I have learned through Christian Science what God is, and man's relation to Him. This brings the peace "which passeth all understanding."
