I wish to express my gratitude for the blessings that have...
I wish to express my gratitude for the blessings that have come to me and mine through the study and application of Christian Science. I had become a nervous wreck, as a result of various diseases, and my sister had been an invalid for nineteen years. We brought her to our home and took care of her on three different occasions, and for several weeks each time. My husband would carry her from her bed and put her in the buggy, then when our home was reached, he would lift her out and put her in bed, where she would stay until taken back to her own home the same way. The last time she was here the doctor told my husband to take her home or he would have us both on his hands, as I would soon be bedfast too.
A few months after this, my husband went to see my sister, and when he returned he told me she was much better. In my weakened, discouraged condition, however, I was skeptical, and said that the next time I heard from her she would probably be worse than ever. Then he told me she was trying Christian Science; but all I had ever heard of this teaching was that it was a religious belief which claimed that if one just thought so, there would be nothing the matter with one, and I wondered what the family could be thinking of to try it for a person as ill as my sister was.
I went out in a few days to see for myself, and to my great surprise found my sister up and around the house. A friend had come to see her and brought the glad news that God heals sickness, the same now as He did in Bible times. I went to see if this lady could help me, and I can never forget the relief I felt when she told me it was not God's will that I should suffer. She advised me to buy a copy of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures." I did so, and Truth has ever since proved to be the only physician we need. The lady gave me treatment, and it seemed as if I was lifted upon the mountain top. I was healed almost instantaneously of many of the ills from which I suffered, and the rest all disappeared as I learned to know myself as God's child.
