With heartfelt gratitude for many blessings received through Christian Science, I submit the following testimony. Late in the afternoon of Oct. 23, 1913, our little girl, then four years old, fell part way down the stairs, striking the lower part of her back on a sharp edge. The result was great distress, so that when we lifted her or moved her in any way, she would scream. A Christian Science practitioner was called that evening. The child slept a little during the night, but cried out whenever she moved. I did not sleep much, but read Science and Health most of the time.

The thought came to me early in the morning to have the little girl examined by a surgeon, for fear the hip might be out of place. We therefore again called the practitioner, who came in a short time and explained to us very clearly the first commandment, as well as many other points. I felt before she left that the work was done, and that the child would walk in due time. On the morning of Oct. 25, after a whole night of sound sleep, she stood upright on her feet on the bed, and after being dressed, took a few steps, leaning on her mother. She then walked rapidly across the room alone. After eating breakfast, she said she would like to go out, so she and I walked a good half mile in the park, the only manifestation of the injury being that she seemed a little unsteady at times. She gained right along, and lost no time from her play. She now attends kindergarten and walks about eight blocks a day.

For this and many other demonstrations, I am grateful to Christian Science and its interpretation of the Bible.
