A bill in the Ohio legislature proposes to give entire freedom...

Columbus (Ohio) Dispatch

A bill in the Ohio legislature proposes to give entire freedom to the practice of Christian Science in the cure of disease. It is a measure in the interest of the personal liberty of a great and growing body of intelligent people, all of whom are ready to testify to the relief and comfort they have secured from such treatment,—not only are ready, but actually do testify to the efficacy of the cure with a zeal that is one of the marvels of the day. Time and experience seem to have lifted this treatment out of mere experimentation and entitled it to professional recognition. Doubtless if the doctors of medicine had given greater attention to the psychological element in certain ailments, they would not now be so concerned about the competition of the Christian Science healers.
