About five years ago, while living near Summit, N. J., I took a Christian Science treatment of a practitioner in that city for the liquor habit, to which I had been addicted for more than twenty-five years. Only one treatment was necessary to rid me so completely of the desire for drink that I have never since had the least inclination for it. At the time, I was suffering from what is known as southern malaria, in chronic form. I had been doctoring for it for years without benefit, and had given up all hope of being rid of it, often wishing when I went to bed at night that I might never wake up. Rheumatism of the right arm and shoulder was also added to my other afflictions. I had not expected to be relieved of these ills by Christian Science, but soon found myself a new man, physically and morally. I took on flesh and gained strength, and am today a living testimonial of the power of Truth to heal disease and overcome evil.

I have also to record the fact that my wife was cured of severe headaches, and many minor ailments, through a faithful study of Science and Health. My brother-in-law was cured in one treatment of asthma in its worst form; and a sister was freed from the same disease after many physicians had failed to help her. Needless to say, my gratitude for what Christian Science has done for me is most profound.
