Six years ago I had what materia medica called a structural defect of the eyes, for which glasses had been worn for a number of years. This condition became aggravated and was accompanied by excruciating pain in the head. A friend who was investigating Christian Science advised me to give it a trial, and I accordingly called upon a practitioner, who took up treatment for me. As a result the glasses were laid aside, and in a few days I was free from pain. There has never been a return of the trouble.
Becoming interested in Christian Science, I began to read Science and Health, and as a result some understanding was gained, but I was unwilling to give up all for Truth. In a comparatively short time my physical condition became bad, and for three years I suffered from acute stomach trouble. Many material remedies were tried, but they gave no relief. Then there were periods of complete nervous exhaustion, and the future indeed looked dark; but in the midst of my despair came the admonition, "Seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you." At last I realized there was but one way,—that through Christian Science; so without delay I again consulted a practitioner. Treatment was given and I was lovingly led back to the study of the Bible and Mrs. Eddy's writings. The healing of the stomach disorder was instantaneous. The same evening I ate a hearty dinner and for the first time in many months felt no distress. I had also been troubled with a bowel difficulty from childhood, but this condition was overcome in a short time, and I am now enjoying the best of health, relying wholly upon divine Love.
Soon my husband also became interested and he has taken up the study of Christian Science with me. He too has experienced several healings, and words cannot express my thankfulness to God for all the blessings I am daily receiving. I am indeed grateful to our Leader for her wonderful illumination of the Scriptures.
