I wish to testify most gratefully to the benefits I have...
I wish to testify most gratefully to the benefits I have received through Christian Science, and particularly to the healing of grief. In regard to the last, Christian Science seems unique, since materia medica offers no healing for it, human sympathy is futile, and the solace of prevailing religious belief has proved ineffectual.
Fourteen years ago, at the time my sister passed on, I first became interested in Christian Science, and through its healing influence the dark clouds were swept away and I was able to carry burdens that had seemed unbearable. I was healed of physical ailments at that time, and although I was under sentence from materia medica to have brain fever, Christian Science proved to be an effectual preventive. I have also been healed of a disease pronounced incurable by two physicians. Within the past two years my mother and father have both passed on; but through Christian Science I have been wonderfully sustained. Truth has enabled me to escape from the assault of grief, and to think upon the things that are true and lovely and of good report.
Christian Science has been to me an effectual guide in business affairs, in my profession as a teacher, and in all the problems of daily life. I am grateful to Mrs. Eddy for her discovery of this wonderful truth, and also for the church services, for the publications, and for all that has made possible to me an increasing understanding of the truth. My entire outlook upon life is brighter because of Christian Science, and I am immeasurably more useful in the world.
