I am one of the many who have been raised through Christian Science...
I am one of the many who have been raised through Christian Science from an unhappy state of existence to one of health and great peace, and for these blessings I can never cease to give heartfelt thanks to God. For years I was never well. I had undergone two operations for internal troubles, and it seemed as if I could not live without taking medicine daily. The doctors all did their best to cure me, but I did not get well. I was afraid to eat or take any exercise, and was fast becoming a chronic invalid.
A few years ago Christian Science was brought to my attention for the third time, and this time I felt drawn to it, my former prejudices having disappeared. It was not for the healing that I came to it, though that was needed very much, but I had long been seeking for a religion which would satisfy. I had tried many churches, but there was always something lacking. This something was found in Christian Science, and I have never had any doubt since as to the truth of its teaching. It is so comforting to know that God, good, is always with us, and that heaven is not a far-away place, but that it is possible by right thinking and living to attain to heaven, harmony, in this present existence.
The physical healing was almost instantaneous, and in a day or two after beginning the study of our text-book, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy, I realized that I did not need any more medicine, so I threw it all away and ate anything that appealed to me. Since then I have had splendid health and can do whatever is necessary. Relatives and friends are amazed at the change in me in all ways. They say I am much easier to live with, and this I can well believe, since formerly I was in a very depressed state of mind and thought that life was not worth living. Although I did not require any treatment for physical ills. I am very grateful for the help received from Christian Scientists for other troubles, and I have found our literature and church services a constant help and delight.
