I am thankful to God for the many blessings I have received...
I am thankful to God for the many blessings I have received through Christian Science. From my youth I was a sufferer from an organic disease and unable to do any hard work. The physician said that I would never get strong.
I lost my husband and was left in a hopeless condition. I had to work for my living, and yet could not keep a position for any length of time. I became interested in Christian Science through friends who had been healed, and who advised me to try Christian Science, telling me that I would find relief in a short time. With this hope I therefore went to a practitioner. I meant to give up my position, for I had charge of a house of ten rooms, and had to do the work all alone. I told the practitioner I would have to do this, as I could not work so hard; but she advised me to keep my place, saying that I could do whatever it was right to do, for God would help me. I also had to take care of a sick person; but while I was under treatment I felt that I was growing stronger, and so I kept my place. I went twice a week for treatment and attended the church services. I devoted myself to the study of the Bible and the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," and I received such strength that I was able to do all the housework, and for nine months waited on the invalid, who was under medical treatment, and that without getting tired.
I know that without divine help neither I nor any one else could have done the work which I had to do. This was six years ago, and I am still at the same place. I have been healed physically and mentally, also helped financially. The healing was very slow, but there by I gained a better understanding of God. I am now strong and well.
