Words cannot express my gratitude to God for what Christian Science has done for me and my family. My children had whooping-cough and I did all I could for them, but being young in Science I could not overcome the ailment, so I called for help. There being no practitioner where we then lived, I sent to a friend in Guthrie, and we were helped at once. My children had been restless at night on account of the coughing, but after the first treatment they slept all night, and the next morning they were well. I knew that God was with His children, an ever-present help, and as I realized His power, my fear left me, and I was healed of a trouble that had been with me for four years.

I have made the Bible and Science and Health my daily study, and the Bible has been opened up to me. I read in Paul's epistle to Timothy that "God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind." I have proved that if we take God for our physician, He will always heal us. I cannot express my thanks to God, and I am grateful to Mrs. Eddy for bringing this great truth to help the whole world.—Bessie Shannon, Guthrie, Okla.
