I have long felt a desire to express my gratitude for and appreciation of Christian Science. About twenty-two years ago this beautiful religion was brought into our home by a dear relative, and it seemed the most reasonable explanation of the Bible I had ever heard. I purchased a copy of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" and have read it ever since; in fact, the Bible and the Christian Science text-book are my daily companions.
Soon after taking up the study of Christian Science, our little girl became afflicted with convulsions in a serious form, but as my husband and all of my relatives rather opposed me in relying upon Science, she was treated by physicians. While I tried to use what little understanding of the truth I had, she was not healed at that time, but I feel sure it preserved her until the opposition subsided. At the end of five years she had grown very weak and was in a pitiful condition, with no hope of materia medica helping her. Being fully convinced that medicine would never do her any good, her father then asked me to put her under the treatment of a regular Christian Science practitioner. I at once did so, and the result was an instantaneous healing.
At the time of my little girl's healing, my husband was suffering with severe kidney trouble, as he had been for many years. He had grown very weak, had a severe cough, and could not eat any solid food without experiencing pain. He therefore decided to try Christian Science for himself, with the result that he was changed from a sick man to a well one in less than a week. The coughing ceased, and he could eat anything he wished without any bad results.
