I am giving this testimony with gratitude for the benefits received through Christian Science. I suffered for twelve years with rheumatism, which increased in severity every year, till my hands became crippled, while the help afforded by physicians and medicines was only temporary. To this trouble was added a severe nervous condition which made me as helpless as a child. In this state I was willing to try anything, and when Christian Science was offered, I accepted it. My healing was slow, as I entertained a great many doubts, but gradually I attained to a better understanding of the truth, and for four years I was entirely well.
Last year, however, I became ill with what is termed twisting of the bowels, which under materia medica calls for an operation, from the effects of which I might not have recuperated, owing to my age; but I was completely restored through Christian Science within a week, and my health is as good as it was in former years. I thank God, and am grateful to that dear woman, Mrs. Eddy, as well as to others of my fellow beings, for all the good which I have received through these teachings.—Frau Mathilde Rohde, Milwaukee, Wis.
