I am sending this testimony in the hope that it may help...
I am sending this testimony in the hope that it may help some one who has almost lost hope of ever being well and happy again, as I had when the blessed truth came to me; and to express my gratitude for the many benefits God has bestowed on me through Christian Science.
I was suffering with the supposedly incurable disease, hereditary tuberculosis of the lungs. I had spent two years in a sanitarium, where all was done for me that mortal mind could suggest, but at the end of that time I came away in the same if not worse condition, the physicians telling me they had done all that could be done, but that a change of climate might prolong my life. I came to the West, and for a few short months I seemed to be very much better; then with all its seeming power error attacked me, all the old symptoms returned in exaggerated form, and for six weeks I was confined to the bed, battling for my life. The physicians were powerless to do anything except advise another change of climate, which I was too weak to try.
It was then divine Love sent Christian Science to me by a lady, a complete stranger, who brought me a Sentinel and asked me to read it. It was a case of man's extremity being God's opportunity, as I was ready to grasp at any straw that offered relief, though I had ridiculed Christian Science, or rather what I thought it was, and was skeptical about it. I read enough to become interested, and decided to give it a trial. I dropped my diet, gave up the fresh-air life, and went to the home of a Christian Science practitioner to live. Under her treatment and loving guidance in the study of this wonderful truth I was able to be back in school in one month, and since finishing there I have been busy at the work I love, and which physicians had positively forbidden me to do,—stenography. I have never had better health in my life. I have been healed of innumerable ills, among them being headaches and stomach disorder of many years' standing.
