[Boston Times]

From a purely medical view-point, appendicitis, due alone to grouchiness, may seem absurd, but every sane member of our modern medical fraternity knows that quietness, peace, and personal evenness of temper save many a doctor's fee and prevent the overfilling of many sanitariums. Anger, the uncontrolled vehement action when a man actually gets his so-called "mad" up, is bound to radiate a poison through a man's system. "Brain storm" has been rightly named, and it does the usual great storm damage. "Getting a grouch on" is a part of the life plan of most of us. Getting this same grouch off may be equally well planned for, but once harbored it is not easily shifted from our overweighted shoulders. A good disposition covers a multitude of sins. It also saves a man from multiple troubles, and those American "nerves," which are often nothing more or less than the after effects of allowing the angry passion to rise.
