I wish to express my heartfult thanks to God, and my gratitude to our dear Leader, Mrs. Eddy, for the help which was given me about two years ago when I was supposed to be a victim of lung disease. I had suffered for about four months with different ailments, the first being what was called appendicitis; then I was said to have an abscess on the liver, then an attack of fever, and next, acute lung trouble that ran into a quick decline, from which the doctors claimed I could not be cured.
After all hope of my recovery had been given up, a dear friend and neighbor, hearing of my condition, brought me over a few copies of the Sentinel and asked me to read the testimonials in them. I did so, and thought that what God could do for others He could do for me; therefore, when this friend called again I told her I was ready to try Christian Science. I began on Wednesday, and on Sunday I was able to sit up for several hours, when before this time I had not been out of bed at all for over a week. I also had a very bad stomach trouble, and had been able to take only liquid nourishment for some time; but I now began to eat anything I wanted without any ill effects whatever. From this time on I improved very rapidly, and in two weeks I was able to be up and go anywhere I wished. I kept on improving, and now I hardly look like the same woman, for I enjoy the best of health and am strong. Thoungh I have three children to care for, I do all of my own work.
At the time I was healed I lived at South Whitley, Ind. Christian Science has not only helped us physically, but also financially, as my husband has a much better position than he had before. It has also helped us spiritually, as we have a much clearer understanding of God, good, than we ever had before.—Mrs. J. H. Glassley, Dallas, Texas.
