"Seek, and ye shall find," spake the Master, teaching on...

"Seek, and ye shall find," spake the Master, teaching on the shores of Galilee; and the truth of these words was made manifest in my own experience in a wonderful way. Four years have elapsed since I first attended a Wednesday evening meeting upon the request of a good friend of mine, and I did so not because of physical troubles, but rather because I was in search of something higher and better than theories and theological teachings had to offer. I had looked into various religious societies, but had found satisfaction nowhere until I was led to Christian Science, which gave me what I sought. Although I could not grasp much of its teachings at first, yet I felt that I had been led to find something which was adequate to lift me above the condition or plane of thought on which I was moving.

A careful study of the Christian Science literature, of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy, Der Herold der Christian Science, and the Sentinel, soon brought with it a new concept of God and man, and showed me the Bible in a light which revealed the availability of its teachings and their practical application to the affairs of daily life. I was thus enabled within a comparatively short time to put these teachings into practise, to overcome bad habits, and my thoughts were "turned into new and healthy channels" (Science and Health, p. 276). I drew fresh energy from this inexhaustible source, and nobler aims were put before me. It became possible for me to attend higher educational institutions for my further instruction, and there I experienced many a proof of the ever-presence of divine intelligence which it is our duty to reflect in all our activities.

I also repeatedly experienced the healing power of Christian Science in my own case as well as in that of others, and it became possible for me to overcome all kinds of ills through my own understanding, small though it was. Wounds which I sustained now and then in my business as a locksmith, before I took up my present studies, healed in a surprisingly short time, even when of a serious nature, and Science has proved itself to be a neverfailing help in many ways, when correctly applied.
