I give grateful testimony to some of the many blessings...
I give grateful testimony to some of the many blessings which we have received since we found Christian Science. My first healing, some twelve years ago, opened my eyes to the unreality of disease and sin. I had always wondered why the churches did not do the healing works that Jesus bade his disciples do; but Mrs. Eddy has made plain to us that to do these we must understand, not merely believe. I first heard of Christian Science from a neighbor who came home from the city where she had gone for medical treatment. She had been troubled for a number of years, and was told by the doctors that she could never be well without submitting to an operation; but the truth, God's message to this age, had made her free, and she was in good health. I also knew of a man who had been healed; and a girl who had always been weakly is now a strong, healthy woman through Christian Science. In our immediate family, headaches, fainting spells, goiter, lung trouble, and many other ills have been overcome, besides great discord; and this is not even a beginning of all the good works done here among us, and some others farther away.
We could not be other than thankful, even if the physical healing were all; but the greatest blessing is the spiritual light, the spiritual understanding which comes with the healing. We can best prove our thankfulness by faithful work, and by daily giving thanks to God and to His Christ. We are grateful for Mrs. Eddy and for all those who are working so patiently and unceasingly to bring this truth to mankind.—Mrs. Etta Radder, Plymouth, Wis.
