As I look over the past year, my gratitude and love to God for all that Christian Science has done for me is so great that I esteem it a privilege to tell others of it, for I had been doomed to a life of total blindness by materia medica. I had been reared very carefully in an orthodox church by God-loving parents, and was considered a fine Bible student, as I had been taught to study the Scriptures, besides the different commentaries, since my earliest childhood; and yet it was in reading the Bible that I became totally blind.

I did not give up materia medica, but it gave me up, declaring my case to be hopeless; then as a last resort, and without any faith whatever in Christian Science, I was persuaded to try it, and in three months I was healed! This was over fifteen years ago, and I have never worn a pair of glasses or used any material remedy whatever during all these years, for my eyes are strong and perfectly well. During the past year I have read The Christian Science Monitor each day, the Sentinel each week, and the Journal each month. Besides this I have studied every word of the Lesson-Sermon each day. I have also read Science and Health and Mrs. Eddy's other writings, and I have carefully read the Bible from Genesis to Revelation. The greater part of this reading I have accomplished at night, simply because as a Christian Science practitioner I have very little time for reading during the day.

For this great blessing of my sight restored I am most thankful to God, the only Mind, and I bow before Him in meekness and humility for this great gift. I am also deeply grateful to our beloved Leader, Mrs. Eddy, for giving to the world "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures." Through her teachings I was completely healed, and for her my love and gratitude are unbounded. Today I stand as a living witness to the power of God to heal, and my earnest desire is that every one may see this great light of divine Truth as revealed through Christian Science, which in this day and age is healing all manner of disease, physical and mental; for God is Love, and is ever ready to bestow His blessings on all who will receive them.
