I have been healed in Christian Science of a nervous trouble in its various phases. About eight years ago I had an important operation, after having previously had a number of minor ones for headache and spinal congestion which kept me in bed days and sometimes weeks at a time, the pain being so severe I hardly knew what I was doing. I overheard the two surgeons say that I would lose my reason if the operation were not performed, though that might hasten such a condition; but there was nothing else left to be done. Six months afterward the headaches were as severe as ever, and I was in despair; but just as I was able to walk I injured my ankle very badly. Then Christian Science came to me, and in three treatments the ankle was entirely healed, much to the surprise of the physician who came to put it in a cast. Slowly, one by one, other ills disappeared, among which were rheumatism, a functional heart trouble, a most distressing intestinal disorder, also a structural defect of the eyes. Finally, the congestion and headaches vanished, with the attendant enlargement of the throat.

Before coming to Christian Science I went to many physicians, all good, honorable men, including my father and two brothers, who tried to help me; but my hope was absolutely gone when this living truth came to me and now I am beginning to express in this improved condition something of man's birthright. I am more grateful than I can say to our dear Mrs. Eddy for having unfolded to us this knowledge of God who is good, this truth that heals.
