Greenock (Scotland) Telegraph

"Spiritual facts" as understood in Christian Science, and explained in "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, are true statements about God and His universe. God is the infinite Mind or Spirit, the source of all reality, omnipresent and omnipotent good, all Life, Truth, Love. This is the "standard" which Christian Science sets up and by which it tests every experience in the lives of men. The "material senses" take not the slightest cognizance of these eternal facts, but are constantly proclaiming the existence of evil and diseased conditions. And Christian Science, holding by its "standard," maintains that such conditions are not of God, have not even the remotest connection with Him, since He can know nothing unlike His own nature, and that consequently they have no right to acceptance in the consciousness of man.

Mrs. Eddy discovered the regenerating power of such an outlook. She proved that in proportion as one understands the spiritual facts of being, these replace the "material sense" of things, including sin and sickness, and thereby establish better conditions of both morals and health.
