I am sure your readers will require something more in the nature of evidence from Mr. Craven against Christian Science before accepting his obiter dictum as to this Science being "absolute nonsense and delusion." Our friend makes a considerable talk about the healing of cancer. Christ Jesus drew no line of demarcation in the healing of disease two thousand years ago. Why should any of his followers do so today? Christian Scientists do not claim to heal any one by their own volition, but they do claim that the power of God and His Christ is as active a healing agent today as during Jesus' ministry.
There is no delusion in Christian Science. It grows, and it will continue to grow so long as it makes people healthy, happy, and prosperous, and so long as it teaches its followers to love God supremely and their neighbor as themselves, and to live, look for, and find the good in other people. So long as it destroys fear and gives mankind a larger sense of life and its responsibilities, and a peace of mind surpassing anything they ever deemed possible in this phase of existence, so long will it grow and prosper; and its critics will save themselves a world of trouble and heartburning if they will make up their minds to accept accomplished facts.
