That Christian Science can overcome every material law relative to a severe burn was proven for me in the summer of 1910. I was terribly burned by an explosion of gas from the range. My face was so badly burned that one side seemed to be drawn. I asked for help in Christian Science immediately, and later in the day telegraphed to Chicago to a practitioner who was then treating me. This occurred at noon, and by three o'clock a feeling of relief came to me. At half past five the pain was gone, and by morning I could not have told without a mirror that anything had happened. The mirror, however, showed how serious had been the injury. The healing was rapid, the worst places healing first, and in just two weeks to the day the last piece of skin peeled off, leaving the flesh soft and clear as a child's, without so much as a red mark, which so often remains for a time after a burn has healed. I was afterward told by a friend that she had heard a dozen people say that if that burn did not leave a scar it would be a wonderful demonstration for Christian Science. Our gratitude is unbounded when such proofs as this come to us, and we can best show it in every-day living.
