AMONG THE CHURCHES

Mitchell Republican

Starting from a small beginning of two people twelve years ago, First Church of Christ, Scientist, dedicated its new building, which has just been erected on the site at the corner of Sixth avenue west and Rowley street. The building was started three months ago and was finished just in time for dedication Sunday morning [June 16]. The building and grounds represent an expenditure of a little over five thousand dollars, and the money was raised by voluntary contributions. The foundation was built solidly, so that in the future a more pretentious structure can be erected.

The society is entitled to much praise for their progressiveness in erecting their own home, and they will have an attractive place in which to worship until they feel the need of a larger edifice. The church has grown steadily in numbers during the past few years, as the people have become impressed with the teachings and beneficial association of it.

Mrs. Kathryne Dodd read the dedication message and history of the local organization, in part as follows:—
