With a sense of the deepest gratitude to our heavenly Father for the way in which He has led me, I am making this statement of what Christian Science has done for me. I also wish to express my gratitude to Mrs. Eddy for finding the way to the Christ-healing in this age.

In June, 1910, I went to Chicago to see my sister before submitting to a severe operation that my physician said was necessary to relieve severe headaches which had become so frequent and intense that I was beginning to fear for my reason. My sister tried to persuade me to try Christian Science, but I could not understand how it could help me. Finally another sister, also a Christian Scientist, added her entreaties, and to please them I consented. The next morning I called upon a practitioner and received my first treatment and a very helpful talk, and I know that I was healed then and there. What is most wonderful to me is the complete loss of the fear of hereditary disease and the knowledge that I can guard against this thought. Although I had always thought I was a child of God, the attitude of Christian Scientists toward God is so different that I feel as if I had just received my freedom. I know now that I was led by divine Love to Chicago that day, and to the practitioner who won my respect by the high ideals she holds. I have since then felt better than I have for ten years.
