Over three years ago, when supposedly incurable sickness and consequent distress were the most prominent factors of our daily life, Christian Science was brought to our notice by a caller. We were interested and some of the literature was given us. In a few days we called on a practitioner and began treatment. In ten days my husband was back at his work after an illness of nearly three months, and was entirely healed in six or eight weeks.

On my husband's return from his first visit to the Christian Science practitioner I inquired what had been done. He replied that the practitioner spoke of man's dominion; said that God had given man dominion over all things, and not all things dominion over man. This seemed so very rational and sensible that I wondered it had not occurred to the world before. What an upsetting it would cause, for one could see that it was right and that everything would have to meet the test of this truth sometime.

I began to apply it to myself. Food had apparently been having dominion over me for some time, causing me trouble whether I ate little or much, even though I observed the strictest dietary rules; but in the face of this new teaching that tyranny was at an end, and the stomach trouble departed from my consciousness at once. I also saw that many other things were no more real than the "bogey-man" of our childhood years.
