Dundee (Scot.) Courier

In reply to "Veritas," I should like to state that I have been a student of Christian Science for fifteen years, and have proved the truth of its teachings in innumerable instances. Before becoming interested in this subject I had been a zealous member of the Scottish Episcopal church; thus, when Christian Science was first presented to me I approached it with great caution, and examined its teachings on the fundamentals of Christianity from a strictly orthodox standpoint. That it healed was very shortly proved to me in two most striking cases, but it was only after a year's study that I understood its teachings sufficiently to be convinced that they were wholly Scriptural. Its position is neither Aryan nor Unitarian, though it differs as considerably from the usually accepted teaching on the trinity as do the simple statements of St. John's gospel from the doctrine set forth in the Athanasian creed.

The proof that the understanding we now have of the divinity of Christ, of the trinity, and of the atonement is nearer the right than those we held before, lies in the increased efficacy of our prayers and in the improvement we gratefully acknowledge in our own lives. Solvitur ambulando. He who wishes to know if Christian Science is the truth must study the subject for himself in the true scientific spirit of humility and patience, instead of accepting as correct the views of persons who neither understand the subject nor wish to understand it.
