It is with a heart overflowing with gratitude that I send this testimonial. I first became interested in Christian Science about five years ago, through the healing of my mother, who had been an invalid for over thirty years. She said that God had healed her through her understanding of Him as gained from "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy. I was very anxious to know how the healing was done, and borrowed a copy of this book. I became so absorbed in its study that I did not like to be interrupted. I hurried through my morning duties, and could hardly wait to begin reading again. I knew I had found that for which I had been longing all my life,—a positive proof that the teachings of Christ are true. I had always looked upon the Bible as merely an ancient history and did not understand it at all, but since studying it in connection with Science and Health I have a clearer understanding of God, and can truly say with Job, "I have heard of thee by the hearing of the ear; but now mine eye seeth thee."
After my first demonstration in healing, I no longer doubted, but have proof that the healing power of Christ is the same today as it was nineteen hundred years ago. There is never a day that I have not some proof of God's loving care and protection, and I would no part with the knowledge I have of Christian Science for all the treasures on the earth.
I am indeed thankful to God for the demonstration made at the birth of my last child. The absence of all fear and pain, confusion, etc., was so different from what I had experienced before that I felt as though I had not a care in the world.
