I wish to express my sincere gratitude for what Christian Science has done for me. Three years ago I was one of those "having no hope, and without God in the world." I had been a seeker after truth for many years, and had hoped to find it outside the church; but all was in vain, I could not believe without understanding. Darkness was round about me, and sickness, sorrow, and trouble of every kind seemed to be my portion. Man's extremity is, however, God's opportunity, and in September, 1908, I bought a copy of Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy, and to me it has truly been a "Key to the Scriptures." It has opened up the treasures of the Bible, answered every question about God and man, healed me physically and mentally, given me a better sense of love, and from it I have learned that "joy is no longer a trembler, nor is hope a cheat" (Science and Health, p. 298).

I know that without the help of Christian Science I would not be here today to testify to the healing power of divine Truth and Love, made clear to all mankind through the teaching and life of Mrs. Eddy, and I am grateful that my thought is changed from a material basis to spiritual understanding. May my life bring forth the fruits of Spirit, to prove my thankfulness for the benefits received. I am confident that a faithful study of our text-book will heal all manner of disease, harmonize temperament, and give peace and rest.—Mrs. Anna Vockeroth, Santa Barbara, Cal.
