CONSCIOUSNESS

GRACE A. BOUGHTON-LEIGH.

Life knows no death!
In all the wondrous harmony
Of law is continuity—
Life never fails.
'Tis mortal man that seeks to find
Some cause by which he can unbind
The earthbound fetters of a mind
That owns decay.

Truth knows no lie!
By lifting thought above the earth
Into new spiritual birth
Truth reigns supreme.
'Tis human thought that would degrade
The universe that God has made
And find a false creation laid
Through mortal will.

Love knows no hate!
The sunshine of an inward peace
Brings to each heart a sure surcease
Of pain and woe.
Man needs but turn unto the light
To know God's kingdom is in sight
And Life is his in power and might
Forevermore.
