It is with deepest gratitude that I express the great benefits I have derived from Christian Science, which reveals Truth as the only permanent health-giving power. Although I had been under the care of many eminent physicians all my life, which means nearly forty years, I seldom found even temporary relief through drugs and stimulants, from sleeplessness and what physicians pronounced acute nervous trouble,—headaches, a stomach trouble, and internal organic disorders, from which I had not even temporary relief. I can indeed appreciate the difference between physical health and strength and an absolute and lifelong continued lack of them. I had been under leading oculists for increasing and serious eye trouble, causing intense pain and a consequent and constant necessity for different kinds of glasses since I was twenty years of age; but in Christian Science I was completely relieved of both the pain and the necessity for using glasses. My professional work having been art, including miniature work, and writing, I am indeed grateful for this healing.
It is not alone the physical help, but also the sufficient clearness of a religion which is practically adaptable to every human need, proving God to be indeed a "very present help in trouble" and demonstrating the truth that God is All, if rightly understood; for which I am sincerely thankful to God, also to Mrs. Eddy.
