I am truly thankful for Christian Science; not for myself...
I am truly thankful for Christian Science; not for myself alone, but for the dear ones in our home. One morning our little girl of eight complained of her throat. The evidence was a case of mumps, with high fever, headache, etc. My husband is a Christian man, but not a Christian Science, and when he was informed of her condition he became very much alarmed, and wanted to call a doctor at once. I had, however, some knowledge of Christian Science and its healing power, yet not enough to apply it myself, so I asked if I could call a practitioner. In a little while he said he had thought it over and was willing that I should have my way, provided that he could call a doctor if she did not improve very soon. I called a Christian Science practitioner, who came about three in the afternoon and gave the little one treatment. At night her fever was gone, she was able to eat some supper, and in two more treatments she was well, and went out of doors at her will.
Since this experience my husband, who had been opposed to Christian Science, has been cured of a sever throat trouble. We all rejoice at this healing and are grateful that we can turn to this wonderful divine power instead of trusting our lives and all else to medicine. I might say here that our medicine-chest with its contents was buried in the ash-pit, and we rejoice in knowing that God helps in the small things as well as the great, if we but trust Him.
