After some delay, I now come forward to give my testimony...

After some delay, I now come forward to give my testimony as to what Christian Science has done for me, and to pay a just tribute to its Discoverer, Mrs. Eddy. The circumstance to which I allude was a serious injury to the elbow of my right arm. It was pronounced a complicated break, and it looked ragged and ugly under the X-ray. The surgeon who set the fracture told me that I would have a stiff arm; that at my "time of life" (sixty odd years) he had never known in such cases of any other result. He was a man of wide experience, and would not have distressed me with such a verdict had he thought any other result possible.

A Christian Science practitioner then took charge of the case, and under her faithful application of its teachings the arm and elbow-joint are as good as new. The surgeon gave it no attention from the time he set the bone. I was under the daily care of the practitioner, and I lost no sleep, suffered no pain, although I wore the splints and bandage for a month or so. The doctor was sure my arm would be stiff, and so instead of taking them off myself, I called at his office and he unbound the arm with great care. I made no comment, but when he removed the splints, etc., I suddenly doubled up my fist and swung my arm over my head. He looked at me for a minute, then said it was wonderful.

All the time since I came from San Francisco to the country, where I now reside, I have done much heavy housework with no ill effect. I am glad to tell my friends of the power of divine Love as exemplified in Christian Science.—Mrs. C. H. Church, Coutolenc, Cal.
