It is only a year and a half since I came into Christian Science, and during that time I have longed to tell the world about it, so I send these words, trusting that they may be as a ray of light to some one who is still in the wilderness of material thought, and that those who see the light may keep it steadily before their gaze, until it leads them to liberty.
I did not come to Christian Science for physical healing, but a sister who is a Scientist and who had been visiting in our home, left with us a few copies of the Sentinel. As I was reading them, one day, I found such lovely thoughts that the more I read the more I wanted to. I became greatly interested, so this same sister sent me a copy of "Science and Health with Key to Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy, which became my daily companion. One day, after having read this book through, I found that I did not need the glasses which I had been wearing for five years. I took them off, and can truly say that my eyes are perfectly well and have not given me any trouble since. Words fail to tell how thankful I am for this one demonstration of Truth's power, for my eyes had previously given me much trouble.
I have had other demonstrations, which to me mean much. I was operated upon, six years ago, for appendicitis, and since then I have at times suffered a great deal from my side ; but now I never feel any pain at all. I have also overcome many other discordant conditions, and for this I am truly thankful. It is wonderful to know that we can meet and overcome all physical discord, but this is nothing to be compared with the spiritual healing. The Bible has become a new book to me, and I feel truly thankful to God who has given to the world one worthy to give us a "Key to the Scriptures."
