I was on the stage, singing in chorus, when I first took...
I was on the stage, singing in chorus, when I first took up the study of Christian Science. So long as I can remember I had always been of a timid, sensitive, and despondent disposition. Feeling that I was not what I should be mentally and physically, and having always been a searcher for real happiness and the truth about man. I searched in public libraries, read the works of many philosophers, books on religion, etc., attended many lectures, thoroughly investigated all the isms, including so-called mental science, from the study and practice of which I suffered much. Instead of improving, I kept on getting worse. I then commenced to read "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy, with the result that in about a year's time, by studying this book in conjuction with the Bible, I have been completely healed of rheumatism, a throat trouble, extreme depression, and an inability to think at all sometimes, which was very embarrassing. All these conditions have been permanently healed through the study of Christian Science.
Although there are still erroneous thoughts to be cast out of my consciousness, I know that through God's help they will be replaced by thoughts of Truth. I am very grateful that I am able to demonstrate the power of Truth and to reflect, if only in a small degree, our Father-Mother God. I hope that my sincere testimony will help somebody else who is in bondage to sin and disease to take courage, for if we are grateful and faithful and put into practice what knowledge of Truth we have, we shall receive more from divine Love. I am indeed very grateful to our heavenly Father for voicing through our dearly beloved Leader the wonderful revelation of Life, Truth, and Love.
