I wish to express publicly my deep gratitude for the help which I have received through Christian Science. Last year I was suddenly taken down with appendicitis, and the physician whom we called in at once sent me to the hospital, in order to have an operation performed. The first operation being unsuccessful, another was contemplated. My parents, having heard of Christian Science in the mean while, had attended the services and meetings regularly, and concluded that real help could not come in any other way. The operation was not performed, and before long I had so far recovered that I was dismissed from the hospital; but two weeks later the old pain set in again.
Christian Science treatment was then taken up, and after the second treatment I was able to ride to the practitioner's home, and in a couple of weeks felt entirely well. I then went on a visit to an aunt, and there was taken once more with the same pain. The trouble was, however, overcome through Christian Science within three days, and I was thoroughly convinced that disease and sin are not real and that they have no power over us. My brothers and sisters, who often had to miss school on account of ill health, have been healed of all their troubles. For these great blessings we are greatful with all our heart to God, and next to Him to Mrs. Eddy.—Ida Fiek, Hannover, Germany.
