The death of Mary Baker Eddy, Founder of the Christian Science church, is an event of interest throughout the civilized world. Mrs. Eddy, whatever may be our varying opinions concerning her creed, was one of the world's benefactors. There is that in her teaching which has given, and is giving, hope, purpose, and uplift to thousands, and few there be in all the roll of the world's inhabitants from Adam down of whom that can be said. Few, indeed, of whom it can be said in equal measure. We may theorize, and dispute if we will, of the future of Christian Science, but we cannot deny the great good that Mrs. Eddy has done. Peace to her ashes, honor to her memory, and may her spirit live after her to be as great a blessing to mankind as she was herself in her life-work.
