[Written for the Sentinel.]

MINISTRY

Myriad dancing drops of diamond dew
Drench the sweet meadow grass at early morn;
But only one, perhaps, sends back to you
The wealth of color in its pure heart born.

Such one may be the lowliest, far away
Seeking in shame of its small worth to hide.
Take courage! From you Love's reflected ray
May shine to him who sees no gleam beside.
