I hope I may be able to help some one else by telling...
I hope I may be able to help some one else by telling what Christian Science has done for my husband and for me. My husband had poor health for nine years. He would take a leave of absence and go West, coming back feeling fairly well, only to repeat this same condition of affairs again in a few months. In January, 1908, he gave up a good position on account of his health. He spent four weeks in a hospital, and did not work until the following September. He felt better after this long rest, but not so well as he expected. In the mean time I had taken up Christian Science, and finally persuaded him to try it. Good came at once to us. My husband found a position, which other friends of his, in the same line of business, had failed to do. After taking four weeks' treatment, he was completely healed of the weakness which seemed at all times to overpower him. He said he felt then as he had not felt for years.
About ten years ago I met with an accident which left me with a bad case of hernia, also an internal complaint. I tried several specialists, with no result, and had given up hope of ever being healed. I was in a bad physical and mental condition at the time of my husband's poor health, the mental disquiet being induced by discontent and worry over my husband's illness. In May I began to take treatment in Christian Science, and three weeks later I had an attack of throat trouble and suffered very much. As I was new in Science, I hardly knew which way to turn. I had always taken medicine before, but I turned to God, and He was not found wanting, for after several days I knew that not only the throat trouble had yielded, but for the first time in ten years I could go without a support. My discontent and my worry had faded into nothingness, and my husband and I were in perfect health.
We are both beginning to know, for the first time in our lives, that "God is love." I am trying each day to reflect some of that love, as the only way to show how thankful I am for my freedom. I am grateful to God, and to Mrs. Eddy, who has shown us the way.
