The psalmist says: "Come and hear, all ye that fear God, and I will declare what he hath done." God sent His word, which restored my soul and healed my body, thus proving that the great Physician is here with us today. Before being led to investigate this healing religion, I was a young girl with apparently no prospect of a bright future before me. I had been forced to abandon my school work two years previous, on account of several ailments which appeared to have secured a firm grasp on me. I was said to have a serious spinal disorder, the result of an illness which I had when an infant. I was treated by different physicians, but their most untiring efforts failed to produce the desired results. I went to Kansas City, where I spent some time under medical treatment, which afforded temporary but not permanent benefits. I next turned to another method, only to encounter the same disappointment, after several months of treatment.

Having now abandoned all material means of cure, I turned at last, in a very humble attitude, to the supreme power for aid, and knocked at the door of divine Science for admittance. I was still suffering from all of the former ills, in a more aggravated form, together with a serious stomach trouble, to which I had become such a slave that for two months my diet had been very rigid. Since gaining admittance into this shrine of Truth, and having recognized man's divine right to dominion, these illusive conditions, spinal and stomach disorders, severe headaches, and eruption of the face, a sense of weakness and other ailments, have all disappeared (some instantaneously, others more slowly), until now I am declared to be a picture of perfect health. I have proven the truth of these words in Exodus: "I will take sickness away from the midst of thee."

I find myself so filled with gratitude for the many blessings I have received, that I feel the only way I can express my thankfulness is to devote myself wholly to this noble cause; and I have only this aim in life, to make earth a fairer, holier place, and to rise each day into a higher sense of Life and Love. While I am only in my teens and have my school work before me, I know that with divine Principle as my guide I shall finally reach this goal. Christian Science has been a help beyond estimate in my work in school. Through the understanding of God as my only intelligence, and therefore sufficient to meet my every need, whether in solving a mathematical problem, making a translation, or any other proposition, I have been able to pass creditably. I have overcome the fear of storms entirely, by holding the thought that God is all-power, and we have ever the divine assurance, "Fear not, for I am with thee." My heart overflows in gratitude to God, who has not only showered blessings upon myself, but upon other members of my family. I recently had the pleasure of attending a testimonial meeting, at Carthage, Mo. While I am at present debarred from this pleasure, owing to the fact that no services are held near my home, I content myself by diligent reading of the Bible, Science and Health, the periodicals, Quarterly, and other Science literature. Many times I have been wrapped in the peace which this reading imparts, with never a thought of the hard day at school before me, when the clock struck four in the morning.
