THE LECTURES

Bliss Knapp of Boston delivered an interesting lecture on Christian Science at the Grand Opera House last evening [Sept. 20] to a large and appreciative audience. The lecturer was introduced by William C. Kaufman, First Reader, who spoke as follows:—

To those who are tired of sin, who are weary of sickness, or who have found nothing in man-made systems. Christian Science says, in the language of our beloved Master, "Come unto me, all ye that labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest." To those who are satisfied with the flesh and blind to the spiritual, it says in the words of the apostle, "Awake thou that sleepest, and arise from the dead, and Christ shall give thee light."

Christian Science is not a departure from the Christianity of Jesus, rather is it the fulfilment of that Christianity, because its teaching gives the student of Christian Science an understanding of God which enables him to heal the sick and do the works which Christ said we should do in his name. Christian Science should not be judged by the criticism of unjust critics, or by students who ignorantly misstate its teaching.—Great Falls Leader.
