For years I had suffered with asthma without getting relief through medical treatment, so when I was taken with an acute attack of illness and my wife suggested Christian Science, I went to see a practitioner, who took up treatment immediately. She explained to me that the belief of disease obtains in mortal mind, that the body is sensationless, that taken by itself it is devoid of feeling, that the cause of disease is mental and must be understood as such. With a few treatments this trouble was removed, and I then told her about the asthma. She said that I should get rid of it all; that I must read the literature diligently, attend the services, yield to God in entire obedience, and recognize no power in evil. I attended the services and meetings regularly, and through the reading of the Lesson-Sermon learned to understand the Bible aright. After I had been under treatment for some time, it became clear to me that I must do my part of the work. I did so, and the asthma which had caused me so much trouble lessened; there has been no return of the attacks, and I now enjoy the best of health.

I cannot express my gratitude in words. Christian Science is my constant companion and leads me in all my paths. In my work, too, it stands a help at my side, and I know that God does not forsake me if I walk in the right path. We need not fear that He will not protect us; I have experienced this. While at work I sustained a severe injury on my face, which caused profuse bleeding. I was unconscious of my surroundings during the first few moments, but as soon as I was able to think I tried to realize that God is omnipresent, and as I began to declare the truth, the bleeding stopped. I washed the wound, and I might say that there was no swelling, neither was there any pain. After the fourth day the wound had completely healed. I thank God, and also our revered Leader for the great truth she has given us.—H. Wesche, Berlin, Germany.
