It is about two years since I became interested in Christian Science, and I do not think that any one ever received more help from it, or felt more secure in it as a foundation for a harmonious future, than I do. When I think of telling in a few words of the sin, disease, and unhappiness out of which I have been lifted, I hesitate; but every day the blessings increase, and this makes it more difficult to tell.

I became interested while reading aloud to my parents, who were not in a condition to read themselves. Both had been given up by physicians, but the testimony of their healing I will leave for them to give. None of us knew what Christian Science teaches, but we had acquaintances near by to whom we wrote to know if it would heal the sick. This inquiry seemed to open floodgates, for people in town were discovered who furnished us with Christian Science literature, and my relatives commenced to take treatment. By reading I found that the truth was what I was starving for, and though at first I did not feel that I could give up old ways of enjoyment, I soon learned to understand myself, to see what it was that I really longed for, and that the reason I was not happy was because I was traveling from instead of toward the things that would make me happy. In Science and Health (p. 21), is an illustration of my condition. My friends were all going in the same direction as myself, and as soon as I saw there was a better way, I was like the traveler who is "ashamed of his zigzag course," and who would then "borrow the passport of some wiser pilgrim." God gave me new friends, who helped me and who taught me what a friend really means, and I am now ready to become such a friend to any weary pilgrim who is a stranger to all the good contained in the Bible and Mrs. Eddy's book. Only my future life can show how grateful I am to her for her many years of sacrifice to help me, as she has done, by pointing the way.

My prayer is that every one who has ever known me in the past may see this and be benefited by it, for what Christian Science has done for me it will do for all who want the true happiness.
