I want to testify with a grateful heart to the healing of our little boy through Christian Science. When he was three years old he had a bad case of hernia. The physician whom we consulted at that time said that the hernia might heal with the years if the boy wore a truss continually, but although he did so, and without it was unable to walk at all, and would suffer the greatest pain, this condition remained unchanged. When the child was six and a half years old I took him again to the physician to be examined. The physician said that the boy now had double hernia, and that an early operation would probably be the best thing, as he would otherwise be afflicted with it all his life. Then God showed us the way to Christian Science. In the beginning of the year 1909 we attended a Wednesday evening meeting for the first time, and have continued to be regular attendants also of the Sunday services. Through an earnest reading of Der Herold we have come to some understanding of this truth. I went with the boy to a Christian Science practitioner, and with one treatment he was healed of the rupture. Our gratitude to God, and to our noble Leader, is unbounded.

I would also like to tell of a case in which I treated my family and myself. I became very ill on Thursday before Easter,—had high fever, pain, great difficulty in swallowing; in fact, all the attendant symptoms of acute throat trouble. I treated myself with my slight understanding of the truth, and had not the least fear. I knew that God helps us to overcome every ill if we love Him supremely, trust in Him, and pray earnestly. My condition improved perceptibly, and to my great joy on the first Easter holiday I could go out, although I was still a little weak. Meanwhile our three little children as well as my husband had been taken ill with the same symptoms. The children were all delirious, and the symptoms were very alarming, but I had not the slightest fear. Jesus' words, "Lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world," came to my mind, and I worked as well as I knew how. The children went to sleep, and when they awoke next morning the fever had left them and they were able to get up and play. Their throats healed gradually ; and in the afternoon I went out with them for a walk. My husband too was immediately freed of all the symptoms of the disease.

I am exceedingly grateful to Mrs. Eddy for the understanding which we have gained through Christian Science, and we thank God that He has shown us the way to the Christ-healing.
