In grateful acknowledgment of the blessings that have come into my life during the past two years, I write this testimony. I have had many proofs of the ever-presence of divine Love, and have unbounded faith in this blessed truth. I shall never forget the first testimonial meeting I ever attended; it opened up a new world for me. I had attended a Sunday service, but it did not appeal to me, as I did not then understand Christian Science. I was not in need of physical healing, as I had always had reasonably good health, although I would frequently have a day or two of severe headache and about every three months a bilious attack. This went on for years, until I came to think that I must have these attacks, so of course concluded that I had no need of Christian Science; but I certainly was mentally sick and blind.

We had a very sick child, and as we had lost two others in two years time, I thought this one would die, too. His fever was very high, and I had almost come to be resigned, although I was very bitter at times and thought in my ignorance and blindness that God had cursed me; yet I wondered what I had done to be so punished, and thought He surely could not be the loving bather I had been taught to believe in. In that state of mind I went to the drugstore for medicine — five different kinds were being given to the child, and we had three doctors in attendance. While on my way home I met a friend who was interested in Christian Science, and she asked me to go that night to a testimonial meeting. after much urging I was persuaded to do so, and a testimony which a lady gave impressed me very much; it was something about another sick child, who had been healed. The next morning the baby's fever was still high and he was threatened with spasms, so I telephoned to a Christian Science practitioner to come and treat him. The healing was instantaneous: I simply could not believe my eyes; I thought I was dreaming. Could this be possible, after he had been so sick? But he has been well from that day. Then my husband was freed from that old demon, whisky, by reading Science and Health, and in three weeks' treatment healed of rheumatism of many years' standing. My son was healed after he had been unconscious for seventy-two hours, as the result of being thrown from a horse.

I could go on and write page after page, and the halt would not be told. I am very thankful for all the healing, and more so for the spiritual uplifting. I never before understood the Bible; it was always a book of mystery and contradictions to me. Truly Science and Health is a "Key" to the Bible. I am thankful to God for the clearer understanding of Him that I have gained; I am also thankful to our Leader for the discovery of this wondrous truth, and my sincere desire is to help others. This truth does heal the sick, reform the sinner, and bind up the brokenhearted. — Mrs. Mary S. Harper, El Paso, Texas.
