Christian Science never attempts to work through will-power...

Alameda (Cal.) Times-Star

Christian Science never attempts to work through will-power or through what is known as mental suggestion; it does not rely for cure upon any supposed influence of the human mind, but depends wholly upon God — divine Mind. Many persons admit theoretically that God is the only creator; that He is good, and all powerful; but the Christian Scientist is learning to apply these truths in his daily life. As a necessary consequence of this application, the Christian Scientist finds his entire thought transformed and elevated. That the effects of such a change are seen in his physical well-being as well as in his mental state, is natural. Viewed from this standpoint, healing is not miraculous, but is the normal working out of law. That this law was clearly understood by Jesus and his disciples was shown by their teaching and works of healing.
