AN APPRECIATION OF THE MONITOR

Portsmouth, N. H., Sept. 25, 1909. The Christian Science monitor, Boston, Mass.

Dear Friends: — I wish to express my appreciation for the Monitor, which is so gloriously bringing before the thought of the people all that is good, pure, and true in its wide range of news of the day. and for its educational value.

Through a desire to have the people of Portsmouth become better acquainted with the Monitor, the local Christian Science society ordered several hundred copies of the latest edition of the Monitor for distribution at the close of their lecture of Sept. 5. This proved to be a happy thought, as it has helped greatly to awaken the people to a realizing sense of the fact that the Monitor is a newspaper that can be depended upon for exact statements and high ideals.
