In grateful acknowledgment for the many blessings...

In grateful acknowledgment for the many blessings received, I desire to tell what has been done for me through Christian Science. It is hardly possible with pen to tell all that might be said regarding the help I received nearly two years ago. Through the healing of my sister, some twenty years ago, from what is claimed to be an incurable disease, we had come to know of Christian Science. We were therefore very desirous of attending the Communion service and dedication of the new edifice of The Mother Church, but from a financial point of view this seemed an impossibility. Divine Love, however, supplied the means through a relative who had watched the temple being reared from the beginning and who, although not a Scientist, was solicitous for our pleasure, and an invitation came for my sister and self to come to Boston and remain through the meetings. In the mean time a generous check came from cousins in Minneapolis to help make the necessary preparations.

The way had opened so unexpectedly that our cup of joy was filled to overflowing, and seemingly all we had to do was to make ourselves ready for the journey, but there was another demonstration to be made. Without any seeming cause, I was taken very suddenly and seriously ill. As we did not meet the attack ourselves, we asked for help from a Christian Science practitioner. The disease was very persistent, and for three weeks seemed to be master of the situation, but the Scientist who was treating me did not give up for a moment but that I would be able to make the journey to Boston. The last afternoon before we were to start I gave up all hope, for I could not even sit up. I could only voice what error was claiming, namely, that I could not go, forgetting that Truth was at the helm! In the morning I was better, and by eight o'clock I was on the way to Boston, the journey including a twelve-mile ride by carriage. The next evening we arrived in Boston, and early in the morning of the following Sunday our cousin accompanied us to the church. We were helped to gain an early entrance, when to all appearance the way was blocked with the waiting crowd for a long distance around the church. I was enabled to attend all of the day and evening services during the week, besides visiting many places of interest to Scientists.

Thanks be to God, who giveth us the victory; and to Mrs. Eddy, who has led us to know that there is but one power, one Mind, one cause, and that God is an ever-present help if we but look to Him.
