I have found that although the people who I knew had been helped and healed in Christian Science were all ready and willing to express gratitude for their healing, and some to give a testimony at the Wednesday evening meeting, there were but few who were willing to write one for the Sentinel or Journal. I wondered at this, but when I began to question myself I found that although I had enjoyed good health for eight years, through Christian Science, I had never sent a line to our periodicals to show my gratitude. All my life previous to this time, I had been miserable and sickly, suffering from a cough, headaches, fainting-spells, and many other ills, but I have been perfectly healed, so that I am now useful and happy. All these blessings have come to me through reading and applying the truth set forth in Science and Health. My husband and two daughters have also been healed of many physical ills, and what is far better, the family as a whole have been lifted up into a purer and more healthful mental atmosphere. All this, and much more, has come to us through Christian Science.
We may think that our testimonies are not needed, and allow this mistake to hinder us from performing a duty which I feel to be as essential as the daily study of the Lesson-Sermon; but if we send forth freely, and from a full heart, good will be done, even if the testimony is not used in our periodicals. This is one way to show our beloved Leader our appreciation of Christian Science. I find that a consectrated life receives each day an unfoldment which teaches us the right way.
