I am very grateful for what Christian Science has done...
I am very grateful for what Christian Science has done for me. It is more than five years since I turned to it for help, and it is indeed a pleasure to give my testimony. Up to December, 1902, I had been an invalid twelve years, under the care of a physician most of the time. I had seven physicians in all, and I had steady treatment from the last one for seven years. More than three years of that time I was at his sanitarium, and was treated for stomach, liver, and bowel trouble in their worst forms. I was on a strict diet all the time, and most of the time was allowed only liquid food. I did not taste bread, butter, sugar, or potatoes in seven years, and I was taking some kind of medicine all the time. I had all kinds of treatment and baths, but nothing seemed to help me.
Everything had been done for me that medical science could do, and when I left the sanitarium to turn to Christian Science the doctor told a friend of mine that it was only a matter of a few weeks, perhaps a month or two, till I would pass on. I then weighed ninety-five pounds, now I weigh one hundred and forty; I have not taken any kind of medicine since I began treatment in Christian Science. I can now eat anything I desire, and all I want of it, without suffering.
Is it any wonder that I am grateful to God, to our dear Leader, Mrs. Eddy, and to each and every one who has given me a cup of cold water in Christ's name!
